Inclusivity is integrated into everything we do.

As a sports team with a huge fan base, we have a platform. This means we have a responsibility to set standards, hold ourselves accountable to those standards and be authentic role models.

One year on from entering Formula One, I have been encouraged to see the steady result of the team’s inclusion and social impact initiatives.

The wide range of activities and programmes that fall under the banner of Social, whether that is improving the health and wellbeing of our people, furthering inclusivity, providing work experience opportunities for the next generation or raising money for charity, all help our people see the impact they can make in the team and beyond, which builds an energy that can then be brought back into the workplace to drive performance.

Inclusion and Social Impact

Since 2020, we have demonstrated our commitment to widening access into motorsport and the broader STEM fields. We have continued to partner with industry experts to increase the pipeline of diverse talent coming into the industry and to address the barriers faced by people from under-represented groups when entering Formula One.

We believe that building a more inclusive and diverse culture helps us go faster and further - so we want to ensure everyone in our team can thrive and contribute their best.

Mulberry Schools Trust

A partnership between our team and the Mulberry Schools Trust, the Mulberry STEM Academy is an extra-curricular provision for learning, inspiration, and innovation. Through the STEM Academy programme we hope to increase the number of students from the ages of 7 to 18 studying STEM subjects.

Sutton Trust

The team supports the ‘Pathways to Engineering’ programme, supporting 50 students every year.

Stemettes

The team supports Stemettes’ ‘STEAM Seasons’, a series of activities to support girls and non-binary people aged 5 – 25 interested in pursuing STEAM careers.

Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE)

Each year team members participate in a six-month mentoring programme with AFBE engineering students looking to begin careers within the sector. The programme aims to raise aspiration, build confidence, and increase the representation of black and ethnic minority (BME groups) at all levels.

Racing Pride

Racing Pride is an innovative movement committed to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity within the motorsport industry. Through the partnership we hope to further embed inclusivity within our team and help Racing Pride bring about significant and lasting change to the motorsport community and beyond.

Imperial College

Through the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Scholarship we aim to increase opportunities into motorsport for under-represented groups. The scholarship supports talented aspiring Aeronautical Engineers in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London.

Zero Gravity

Through our bespoke scholarship we have pledged £438,000 to help students take their next steps in STEM.

Star Academies

In collaboration with Star Academies, the team have created the Future Engineers Academy, an experiential enrichment programme to inspire and equip young people with the skills and confidence to pursue careers in engineering and motorsport.

Internal Forums

Within our team, several employee networks exist to celebrate our diversity and learn about those different to our ourselves.

Our newest network, the Working Families Network, provides a community for our team members to share lived experiences with others.

Team members have taken part in a series of workshops on topics such as Pressure Management for Parents and Managing Working Parents for Managers.

Policies and Practices

Throughout 2023, we launched new EDI toolkits to help support our managers and embedded EDI into our core HR practices and policies such as recruitment, performance, talent development and leadership.

Advice and training on Inclusion has been embedded in our Leadership app to help managers develop their understanding, with modules including Social Capital, Inclusion and Belonging.

We have developed a Dignity at Work policy with an accompanying e-learning module, conducted a review of our family friendly policies and practices and created a Social Pillar working group.

Charity and Community

Official Team Charity Partnership

Helen & Douglas House, the world's first children's hospice, located twenty-five miles from our Brackley campus, has been selected as our 2025-2026 Official Team Charity Partner.

Founded in 1982, Helen & Douglas House helps families in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties to cope with the challenges of caring for children with life-limiting and terminal conditions. The hospice provides round-the-clock care and gives families the time and space to create precious memories together.

Our charity partnerships are chosen and led by our team members, and we are proud to have raised vital funds and awareness for some fantastic causes over the years. Over the next two seasons, we aim to raise £100,000 for the hospice.

Corporate Donations

We support a wide range of causes through donations of memorabilia, factory tours and exclusive experiences that are auctioned or raffled to raise funds. In 2024, we supported 95 charitable causes, spanning local, national and international organisations.

• £2,450 raised for Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for children’s palliative care, via the donation of a behind-the-scenes factory tour.

• £6,000 raised for Save the Children, who work across the globe to deliver immediate and lasting change to children’s lives, via the donation of a hand-signed technical drawing of our 2021 race car, the W12.

• £6,100 raised for the Small Steps Project, a humanitarian charity dedicated to supporting those on rubbish dumps and landfill sites, via the donation a pair of race-worn boots, hand-signed by Lewis.

Community Outreach

Since 1998, we’ve used our platform, people and resources to support causes that matter – both globally and right here at home in Brackley. Our community is a fundamental part of our identity, and we’re proud to give back in ways that create meaningful, lasting impact.

In 2024, we provided over £31,000 of funding to local organisations across the area. From schools and support services to festive events and frontline charities, our goal is to help local children and families in need, contribute to shared community moments, and ensure our neighbours feel supported year-round.

Trackside Outreach

Wherever we race, we aim to make a positive impact. From Melbourne to Miami, we build relationships with local schools, charities and communities, and welcome guests trackside each season, giving them unforgettable experiences and opening doors into our world. In 2024, many of our race weekends involved trackside outreach, carefully designed to meet different needs and make the biggest possible impact.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

In some ways we are a small to medium business with a typical manufacturing environment but in other ways we are much more - a high-profile global sport. We consider health and safety in every aspect of the business, not just the car on the track but all the set-up, travel and operations for race events as well as everything that happens at our campus in Brackley, 24 hours a day.

Stuart Hughes, Head of Health and Safety

In 2024, we deepened our commitment to creating a safe, healthy and high-performing environment. By integrating physical and mental wellbeing with operational safety, we’ve built a culture where people feel supported to perform at their best and empowered to drive continuous improvement.

  • Introduced a simplified, team-led reporting tool to raise and resolve saf

  • Embedded full-time occupational health support

  • Over 85% of the team completed health assessments

  • Piloted heart rate variance tracking to help manage stress and recovery

  • Trained or re-trained over 50 mental wellbeing champions in 2024

  • Broke ground on a new Wellbeing Centre - a space to connect and recharge

Operational Risk Profile

One of our biggest projects in health and safety in 2023 was to review and update the risk profile for every department in the operational environment.

As our operations are constantly changing and evolving, we must keep up-to-date and ensure that everyone in our team knows how to mitigate risk.

Occupational Health Screening

Every year we carry out a full Occupational Health Screening to safeguard our team members who are exposed to risks such as noise, hazardous substances and by-products from operational activity.

This process is a validation of our control measures and enables us to identify any issues early on and take steps to mitigate risks.

Updated Health and Safety Policy

We have worked closely with the Governance team to update our Health and Safety Policy as part of the Integrity Code, enabling every member of the team to understand how they contribute to creating a healthy and safe environment.

Annual Health Assessment

In 2023, 89% of our team completed the Annual Health Assessment. This exceptionally high level of engagement reflects our commitment to care for our team and our culture of using data to drive improvement.

Analysing data at individual, departmental and whole team levels means that we can quickly assess opportunities for improvement within the team with our culture of healthy competition adding an incentive to adopt healthier behaviours.

Wellbeing Centre

During 2023, we worked with our Site Development team to develop the concept for our new Health and Wellbeing Centre as part of the campus redevelopment.

The Wellbeing Centre is an exciting project which will enable us to deliver all our care and services in one place, bringing our team members together not just for healthcare but to eat, socialise, take part in lunchtime activities and come back to work energised.
