F1 Sim Racing 2025:
Team Extends Lead after Event Two in Sweden

Three podiums in four races have helped the Mercedes F1 Esports team extend its lead at the top of the 2025 F1 Sim Racing World Championship standings.

Dani Bereznay and Jake Benham finished P2 and P3 at Silverstone, before a further P2 for Istvan Puki in Belgium mean the gap at the top of the team standings grew from 16 points to 28.

Further points-finishes at Zandvoort and Austin leave the team in pole position to secure the title at the final Event in Sweden in March.

Dani, Jake, and István once again combined to outscore the other nine teams on the grid over the course of three days, which again pitted the finest Esports racers on the planet against one another.

The 78-point tally bettered close rivals Red Bull (75) and Ferrari (73), and while the team is yet to claim a race win in 2025, the consistency of scoring has been pleasing.

The combined 165 tally between the three drivers leaves all three in the top 10 in the Drivers’ Championship, Dani P6, István P8, and Jake P10.

What They Said:

Dani: “We were so close to the win at Silverstone, hopefully we can get it in Event 3. This is what we are working for!

“Everyone is a perfectionist here, none of us are satisfied, but leading the championship with four races left is an achievement we only dreamt of.”

Istvan: “The last 2 races have definitely shown that the season is not over yet and we have to give a big last push to bring the title home.”

Jake: “We wanted a little bit more from COTA, but it is brilliant we could extend the lead in the Teams’ championship. “We are all looking forward to the last event in just over a month’s time where we are all going to give it our all to try and come away with the prize we have been working for.”

Team Principal Oli MacFarlane said: “We have slightly bittersweet feelings coming out of Event 2.

“Austin was a really tricky one for us and did not deliver the kind of strong points scoring the team had achieved previously.

“However, it is brilliant to leave Event 2 further ahead in the Constructors' Championship.

“The team has shown such strengths throughout - particularly the streak of finishing on the podium in all of the first 6 races of the season.

“We are the only team with three drivers in the top 10 of the Driver standings and the commitment, energy and execution that the whole group of drivers and engineers have shown puts us in a fantastic position to attack the final event with confidence.”

The final event of the season will take place over four rounds in Sweden between 25 and 27 March.
