This European season, we welcomed a new member to our team: an all-electric Mercedes‑Benz Trucks eActros 600 to transport one of our race trailers and key operational infrastructure across the continent.
Following an internal naming competition, our truck is now affectionately known as ‘EVie’ – named by nine-year-old George, the son of one of our team members.
We’re the first team on the grid to run an all‑electric truck across the full European season, making EVie's addition to our fleet another important first for our sport. EVie has accompanied us across the first six races of the European season and now heads back to Brackley for a well-earned break before travelling to the Netherlands in late August.
So far, EVie has travelled over 8,300 kilometres across Europe – approximately 1,415 laps of Silverstone Circuit!
Following the summer break, EVie will be back on the road with us, transporting key race infrastructure including our communications office, doctor and physio rooms to Zandvoort, Monza and Madrid. Come September, EVie will have covered a total of nine races, travelling approximately 15,000km.
Logistics remain one of the most challenging areas of our operations to decarbonise, so EVie’s deployment, supported by Daimler Truck UK, marks an important step forward in reducing our emissions and supporting our target to achieve Race Team Control Net Zero by 2030.
