Rising stars of Formula One and MotoGP meet at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport HQ...
NEWS: 2 Wheels Meet 4 with PETRONAS
Ahead of MotoGP's recent visit to Silverstone, the rising stars of the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Team took a small detour to visit our Brackley factory in the build-up to the event.
Moto2 rider Niki Tuuli was joined by Moto3 racers Ayumu Sasaki and Adam Norrodin for the visit, which was hosted by our Reserve Driver George Russell - who is currently leading the Formula 2 Championship.
George took them on a tour of the factory, where they were able to talk about the challenges of their respective motorsport disciplines and the journey to the top of motorsport.
"This is the first time I have seen this kind of thing and it was nice to meet George, he showed us all of the places here," said Niki.
Adam added: "Really, really impressive. Normally I watch F1 on TV and the closest I have watched was the race in Sepang. I was really surprised to visit the factory."
They also discussed the importance of PETRONAS in their careers, with the fuel and lubricants proving to be a vital ingredient in the complicated recipe of success in racing.
"The PETRONAS brand means a lot to me because I can ride in the World Championship and we can have this opportunity," explained Ayumu. "It means everything to me."
Once the tour was completed, George, Niki, Ayumu and Adam returned to reception, where they got a close-up look at last year's Championship-winning W08.
The visit concluded with a photoshoot and some video filming outside the factory entrance.
They posed alongside a W07 from the 2016 F1 season, Niki's Moto2 bike and Ayumu and Adam's Moto3 machines.
The W07/04 featured in the photos has the most wins of any chassis in F1 history, with 10 victories.
