What Is the Weather Forecast for the 2026 Dutch GP?

20 August 2026
5 Min Read

Formula One returns from the summer break for the final Dutch Grand Prix and Zandvoort's exposed, dune-side location looks set to deliver its usual mixed bag. Conditions here can shift quickly and this weekend brings a mix of sunshine and the odd shower across the three days.

This is a Sprint weekend, meaning there is only a single practice session before the sessions that count begin, leaving no room for error in changeable conditions.

With Sprint Qualifying on Friday afternoon setting the grid for Saturday's Sprint and Qualifying on Saturday setting the grid for Sunday's Grand Prix, every session this weekend carries direct championship weight.

Here's the weekend's weather watch:

Friday: Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze will greet the team for the only practice session of the weekend, with conditions holding steady into Sprint Qualifying. Temperatures reach a high of 19°C and virtually no chance of rain across the day.

Saturday: Light rain showers move in for the Sprint, with a gentle breeze keeping conditions changeable through the morning. Cloud cover builds into the afternoon for Qualifying, with a high of 18°C and a moderate chance of further showers, making tyre choice and track evolution worth watching closely.

Sunday: Race day begins under cloud with a lingering chance of early rain, before conditions are expected to brighten through the day. Temperatures reach a high of 18°C as we line up for the Dutch Grand Prix, with a gentle breeze and a reduced but present chance of showers.
